Shaheen Confident in Lahore Qalandars’ PSL Final Ambitions

LAHORE: Shaheen Shah Afridi, the captain of Lahore Qalandars, conveyed his optimism on Saturday about leading his team to a Pakistan Super League (PSL) title at their home ground.

“We are excited to participate in our third PSL final in the last four seasons, and our objective is to secure the treble at our home venue,” the skipper stated in a release to the cricket board.

The two-time champions are preparing to compete against Quetta Gladiators in the PSL season 10 final, which is slated to occur tomorrow at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.

Afridi commented on his team’s performance throughout the competition, stating that the transformation in Lahore’s campaign has been remarkable this season, “with all team members displaying resilience under pressure at various stages of the game.”

“Our team structure enables us to maintain an aggressive approach in both batting and bowling, which is a positive aspect for any team aiming to win championships,” he remarked.

Furthermore, Shaheen Shah Afridi mentioned that his team would draw confidence from their prior success against the Gladiators, including a 79-run victory and an unfinished match in Lahore. “We are aiming to replicate those achievements tomorrow,” he stated with assurance.

The Qalandars concluded the league stage in fourth place with 11 points from 10 games.

Consequently, the two-time champions encountered Karachi Kings in Eliminator 1 and clinched a convincing six-wicket victory, arranging an Eliminator 2 match with the defending champions, Islamabad United.

The Qalandars, fueled by momentum, outperformed the three-time champions by 95 runs, securing their place in the PSL final for the last four years.
