Pakistani left-arm fast bowler Shaheen Afridi shared a touching message on Monday to commemorate his son Aliyaar Afridi’s first birthday, conveying his affection and thankfulness on this momentous day.
Shaheen posted a heartfelt message alongside images on his Instagram account, treasuring the happiness of being a father.
“Happy Birthday Aliyaar – one year already! The moment I carried you for the very first time,” Shaheen expressed in his post.
“Witnessing your growth, your smiles, and your initial steps has been the most incredible experience of our lives. You are our most significant blessing and purest delight. Mama & Baba love you more than words can express,” he further stated.
Shahid Afridi, former Pakistani captain and legendary all-rounder, also participated in the celebrations by sharing a loving message for his grandson on Instagram.
“Happy 1st birthday to my precious Aliyaar. You’ve brought more love and light in just one year than I could have ever envisioned. May Allah grant you a life filled with well-being, joy, and purpose. You are deeply cherished,” he conveyed.
Currently, Shaheen is engaged in his national duties as Pakistan gears up for a demanding international schedule.
The national team is slated to participate in a tri-series against Afghanistan and the UAE from August 29 to September 7, commencing with a match against Afghanistan.
The tri-series will serve as crucial preparation prior to the ACC Men’s T20 Asia Cup 2025, which is scheduled to be held in Abu Dhabi and Dubai from September 9 to 28.
The tournament is set to begin with an inaugural match between Afghanistan and Hong Kong on September 9.
Pakistan will launch their Asia Cup campaign on September 12 against Oman, followed by a highly anticipated match against long-time rival India on September 14, before concluding their group-stage matches against the UAE on September 17.
Initially, Pakistan was slated to host Afghanistan for a bilateral T20I series in August. However, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) suggested expanding it into a tri-series and relocating it to the UAE to provide teams with enhanced preparation for the Asia Cup.
