Asif made his retirement announcement on Monday via an Instagram post, describing his time representing Pakistan as the most cherished phase of his life.
Asif stated, “Today, I am announcing my retirement from international cricket.”
“Alhamdulillah, wearing the Pakistan jersey has been the greatest honor of my life, and representing my country on the cricket field has been my proudest achievement.”
He further thanked his teammates, coaches, fans, and family for their constant support throughout his career, especially during the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021, when he experienced the tragic loss of his daughter.

Asif Ali’s Career Highlights
Asif Ali played in 58 T20Is and 21 ODIs for Pakistan, accumulating 959 runs across both formats, with three half-centuries.
He was a member of the Pakistan teams that reached the semi-final of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in 2021 and the final in 2022.
Notably, he played a key role in the 2021 campaign, delivering match-winning performances against New Zealand and Afghanistan during the group stage.
His final international match was against Bangladesh at the 2023 Asian Games.
