Changes Imminent for Senior Men’s Selection Committee
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is expected to introduce modifications to the senior men’s selection committee, potentially adding two new members, according to reports.
Potential Replacements
While it remains uncertain which specific zones will experience selector changes, current BCCI regulations stipulate a cumulative five-year term limit, which no existing panel member has surpassed.
With Ajit Agarkar’s tenure extending until the T20 World Cup 2026 and Ajay Ratra’s recent appointment in October 2024, speculation is mounting that two individuals from the group of SS Das, Subroto Bannerjee, and S Sharath may be replaced.
Background of Committee Members
- Sharath: Promoted to the senior panel in 2023 after serving as chairman of the junior panel since 2021.
- Das: Briefly held the position of interim chairman following Chetan Sharma’s departure before Agarkar’s appointment.
- Bannerjee: Joined the committee in early 2023.
