Real Madrid Pursuing Trent Alexander-Arnold

Real Madrid is reportedly attempting to finalize the acquisition of Trent Alexander-Arnold before the Club World Cup begins. The 26-year-old English footballer is anticipated to depart from Liverpool without a transfer fee when his current contract concludes this summer.

Alexander-Arnold’s existing agreement with Liverpool is set to expire on June 30, while the Club World Cup is scheduled to commence 16 days prior.

Reports indicate that Real Madrid has already engaged with Liverpool to explore the possibility of arranging an early transfer for the right-back, enabling him to participate in the FIFA-organized competition held in the United States.

It’s believed that Real Madrid is contemplating an offer of approximately €1 million (£850,000) to ensure Alexander-Arnold’s prompt release. The Spanish team might also assume responsibility for the remaining wages owed to the player by Liverpool as part of their efforts to secure a mutually beneficial agreement. Sources suggest that the discussions among all involved parties are progressing smoothly.

FIFA has formally announced a brief preliminary transfer period from June 1 to June 10, intended to allow teams to finalize their rosters before the start of the competition.

Speculation suggests Alexander-Arnold has verbally committed to joining Madrid after announcing his departure from Liverpool.

Alexander-Arnold stated, “I think, first and foremost, I want to say it’s not an easy decision. There’s been a lot of thought and emotion behind it.”

“I’ve been here 20 years now, loved every single minute of it, achieved all my dreams—everything I ever wanted to achieve here.

“Giving everything day in, day out for 20 years, I feel like I’ve reached a point where I need a change, a new challenge—for me as a player and as a person. I believe now is the right time.”

Having emerged from Liverpool’s youth system, Alexander-Arnold joined the club at the age of six and made his first-team debut in 2016.

Throughout his tenure at Anfield, he has played in 352 matches, scoring 23 goals, and secured eight major titles, including a trophy this season.
