PM Sharif Meets President Putin at SCO Summit

BEIJING: On the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit held in Beijing, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif engaged in a direct meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Both leaders voiced a mutual desire to enhance their countries’ collaboration.

During the meeting, President Putin stated that Russia and Pakistan share outstanding relations, expressing his anticipation for a further strengthening of these ties.

He acknowledged the ongoing natural disaster in Pakistan and conveyed his condolences for the devastation caused by the recent flooding.

PM Shehbaz, in turn, reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to boosting its relationship with Russia, with a particular focus on expanding trade and cooperation in diverse sectors. He emphasized Pakistan’s eagerness to broaden its partnership with Moscow across various fields.
