Postecoglou Takes Helm at Nottingham Forest

Ange Postecoglou has declared his commitment to leading Nottingham Forest towards success, expressing his desire to secure the club’s deserved position in football. He succeeds Nuno Espirito Santo as the head coach.

Reportedly, Postecoglou has formalized a contract extending until June 2027. The Greece-born former Australian international’s departure from Tottenham Hotspur occurred in June, following a two-season stint where he guided the team to their first significant trophy since 2008—the UEFA Europa League, triumphing over Manchester United in the final this past May.

The Australian coach has voiced his firm intention to secure silverware with Nottingham Forest, emphasizing his passion for winning and his ambition to replicate that success with his new team.

“I am fond of achieving victories,” Postecoglou stated in a conversation with Forest’s media outlet. “That is my established track record.”

“I perceive a collective desire for greater accomplishments within the club, which aligns perfectly with my aspirations. I believe we are entering a particularly promising phase.”

Postecoglou conveyed his honor in commencing this new chapter with Nottingham and his determination to steer the club towards triumph, planning to implement his offensive-oriented strategy to realize these objectives.

“I feel both honored and humbled, yet more significantly, I am resolved to ensure this football club attains its rightful stature,” he affirmed. “It is well-known that I favor an attacking approach, and I enjoy seeing my teams score goals.”

Nottingham Forest’s coach noted that while many newly promoted teams struggle to maintain their position in the league, his current team is already a competitor in European competitions, an achievement attributable to the collective efforts of everyone involved.

“Considering what the club has recently accomplished, attaining our current status is a remarkable achievement,” Forest’s coach commented. “While other promoted clubs have found it challenging to remain competitive, we have swiftly returned to European competition, vying for honors, a testament to the dedication of all parties involved.”
