Key Points of the Address

PM Shehbaz’s comprehensive speech focused on the situation in Gaza, the Kashmir issue with India, climate change, and matters of global economy.

He presented these challenges as elements of a complex global environment characterized by increasing disputes, breaches of international regulations, and unstable climate conditions.

The Prime Minister expressed strong disapproval of actions in Gaza, advocating for a prompt and enduring cessation of hostilities. He characterized the Israeli operations as a grave injustice against innocent individuals, calling it a blemish on global ethics.

Furthermore, he voiced support for a two-state framework based on the pre-1967 borders, designating East Jerusalem as the capital of a self-governing Palestinian nation.

Regarding Kashmir, PM Shehbaz reiterated Pakistan’s stance, pushing for a fair and permanent resolution as outlined in UN Security Council resolutions, affirming the right to self-determination for the Kashmiri population.

The Prime Minister also blamed India for unlawful and individual actions in the disputed territory, which he stated have escalated tensions.
