Prime Minister’s Youth Laptop Scheme Extends Registration Deadline

The Prime Minister’s Youth Laptop Scheme has announced an extension for registration, moving the final date from May 20 to June 1, 2025.

This extension provides students with an additional opportunity to utilize the resources offered by the program, which aims to boost digital literacy.

According to a government representative, the initiative is a component of the broader Prime Minister’s Youth Programme and has garnered significant positive feedback from students nationwide.

The revised deadline allows students who previously missed the chance to apply and potentially benefit from the program. The scheme’s primary goal is to encourage innovative education and empower young individuals through digital access.

The announcement of this extension has resulted in a surge of online traffic, with numerous students submitting their applications.

As per official directives, students enrolled in higher education at recognized public institutions are eligible to apply.

Applicants must be currently pursuing PhD, MS/MPhil, Master’s, or Bachelor’s degrees and fulfill specific academic criteria.

Specifically, applicants must maintain a CGPA of 2.80 or achieve 60% marks. First-year university students are required to submit their Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) marks. MS/PhD students in their initial semester must provide results from their prior degree.

A quota system is in place for laptop distribution, reserving 18% of laptops for students in Balochistan’s higher education institutions and 5% for students engaged in distance learning programs.

To register and capitalize on this opportunity, eligible students can apply either through the Prime Minister’s Digital Youth Hub (DYH) mobile application or by visiting the PM Youth Programme website: www.pmyp.gov.pk, where applications are currently being accepted.
