PIA and Air Karachi Finalize Aircraft Maintenance Agreement
Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) and Air Karachi, a newly established airline by Karachi’s business sector, have officially entered into an agreement for aircraft maintenance services. The announcement was made through a statement released on Wednesday.
According to the finalized arrangement, PIA will deliver comprehensive engineering and MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) services to support Air Karachi’s operational needs.
The agreement’s signing involved key figures from both organizations, including PIA CEO Air Vice Marshal Amir Hayat, Air Karachi Chairman Hanif Gohar, and Air Karachi CEO Air Marshal (Retd.) Imran Majid.
Air Karachi’s launch was initially disclosed in November 2024 by Karachi’s business community, revealing an initial capital injection of Rs5 billion. Hanif Gohar shared these details during a visit to the Karachi Press Club, accompanied by S M Tanveer, Chairman of the United Business Group.
