School Closure Announced in Karachi Due to Heavy Rainfall

Due to persistent rainfall impacting various localities, officials have declared a school holiday in Karachi for today (Wednesday).

Karachi’s Mayor, Murtaza Wahab, has advised residents to limit unnecessary commutes and stay safe indoors. This recommendation follows widespread water accumulation on roads and in areas caused by overflowing Lyari and Malir rivers, along with the Thado stream.

The announcement was released early Wednesday morning, following continuous heavy rainfall across numerous city sectors that started on Tuesday and extended throughout the night.

In a related update, Dow University Hospital’s administration has confirmed the postponement of all examinations scheduled for today. Students have been assured that revised examination dates will be communicated once the weather conditions improve.
