Arshad Nadeem Secures Historic Gold at Asian Athletics Championship

LAHORE: Mohsin Naqvi, Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), extended his congratulations to Arshad Nadeem, the national javelin thrower, for his outstanding achievement in winning a gold medal at the Asian Athletics Championship held in South Korea.

“Well done, Arshad Nadeem! We take immense pride in you,” Naqvi conveyed in his congratulatory message, acknowledging the athlete’s remarkable performance on the Asian stage.

Acknowledging the collaborative spirit contributing to the triumph, Naqvi also lauded Arshad’s coach and his family for their support and guidance.

“This victory stands as a testament to unwavering hard work, commitment, and dedication,” he remarked.

Naqvi referred to Arshad as a genuine patriot, noting, “Arshad has once again allowed every Pakistani to hold their head high with pride.”

The PCB Chairman further commented that Arshad is a national icon, and the entire nation celebrates this significant accomplishment.

“Every Pakistani is ecstatic, and the nation feels proud of Pakistan’s talented athlete,” Naqvi stated.

Naqvi also highlighted the symbolic importance of Nadeem’s victory.

“By raising Pakistan’s flag high in South Korea, Arshad has captured hearts. It is a tremendous honor to emerge victorious against athletes from India and other nations,” he concluded.

During the championship, Arshad demonstrated exceptional skill, holding the leading position throughout the final stages.

He is the first Pakistani athlete in more than half a century to clinch a gold medal at the Asian Athletics Championships, representing Pakistan’s first gold since 1973, when Allah Dada and Muhammad Younis secured top distinctions in javelin throw and 800 meters, respectively, at the event held in the Philippines.
