PCB Announces Men’s Central Contracts for 2025-26
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) revealed the men’s central contracts for the 2025-26 season on Tuesday, noting the absence of Category A and the omission of several prominent cricketers.
Eight players who were previously in Category D have not been included this year.
This group comprises Aamir Jamal, Haseebullah, Kamran Ghulam, Mir Hamza, Mohammad Ali, Mohammad Huraira, Muhammad Irfan Khan, and Usman Khan, all of whom were not offered contracts for the upcoming season.
Unlike previous seasons, no player was placed in Category A. Instead, the PCB allocated ten players each to Categories B, C, and D.
The roster has grown to 30 players, up from 27 last year, with 12 new players joining the setup.
The new entrants feature Ahmed Daniyal, Faheem Ashraf, Hasan Ali, Hasan Nawaz, Hussain Talat, Khushdil Shah, Mohammad Abbas, Mohammad Haris, Mohammad Nawaz, Sahibzada Farhan, Salman Mirza, and Sufyan Moqim.
Five players earned promotions due to their consistent performances in the prior season. Abrar Ahmed, Haris Rauf, Saim Ayub, Salman Ali Agha, and Shadab Khan have been upgraded from Category C to Category B.
Nine cricketers have maintained their positions. These include Abdullah Shafique in Category C; Khurram Shahzad, Mohammad Abbas Afridi, and Mohammad Wasim Jnr in Category D; Noman Ali, Sajid Khan, and Saud Shakeel in Category C; and Shaheen Shah Afridi, who remains in Category B.
The fresh contracts are scheduled to commence on July 1, 2025, and will run until June 30, 2026.
