PCB’s 80th Board of Governors Meeting: Performance Review and Strategic Approvals
LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) convened its 80th Board of Governors (BoG) meeting on Saturday, where the recent displays of the men’s and women’s national cricket teams were closely assessed.
The session, led by PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, featured the BoG’s evaluation of strategies intended to elevate Pakistan’s standing in international cricket. A thorough briefing was also provided concerning initiatives aimed at bolstering women’s cricket at the foundational level.
The board further examined proposed modifications to domestic cricket, with the goal of expanding opportunities for emerging talent, as well as plans to enhance High-Performance Centers across the country.
Key decisions endorsed during the meeting encompassed revisions to financial protocols and the reappointment of auditing firms for the ongoing fiscal year. Adjustments to procedures were also sanctioned to ensure compliance with the global anti-corruption standards, and new benchmarks were established for club oversight.
The BoG formally validated resolutions adopted during its preceding 78th and 79th gatherings.
Several BoG members were present at the meeting, including Anwar Ghani, Zaheer Abbas, Sajjad Ali Khokhar, Zafarullah, Tanveer Ahmed, Muhammad Ismail Qureshi, and Tariq Sarwar.
Additionally, key PCB personnel were in attendance, such as COO Sameer Ahmed, PSL CEO Salman Naseer, the CFO, and directors overseeing International Cricket, Media and Communications, Domestic Cricket, Human Resources, and High-Performance Centres, along with the head of Women’s Cricket and representatives from the legal division.
