Tragic Accident Claims Lives in Hasilpur

In a devastating incident near Hasilpur, a tehsil in Bahawalpur district, five members of a family perished, and three others were wounded when a passenger coach collided with their car, as confirmed by rescue authorities on Sunday.

According to Bahawalpur Rescue Control, the deadly collision transpired on Hasilpur-Chishtian Road. A passenger coach, en route to Bahawalnagar, collided head-on with a car carrying eight family members.

The impact resulted in the immediate loss of five lives and injuries to three individuals.

Following an alert, rescue teams swiftly arrived at the scene, transporting the injured to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital in Hasilpur for urgent medical attention.

Officials reported that three victims died instantly at the crash site, while two others succumbed to their injuries at the hospital. Preliminary investigations indicate that excessive speed was a significant factor in the accident.

Road accidents are a frequent occurrence in Pakistan, often attributed to factors such as driver recklessness, inadequate road maintenance, and adverse weather conditions.

In a similar incident on July 5, at least six individuals died, and 18 others were injured when a passenger bus collided with a trailer in Muzaffargarh’s Langar Sarai area.

The passenger bus, which was traveling from Lahore to Ali Pur, collided with a trailer, resulting in the fatalities.

Last month saw a series of separate road accidents in Ghotki, Dera Ismail Khan, Layyah, and Chichawatni on a single day, claiming at least 10 lives and leaving dozens injured.

In one such incident, three people died, and over eight sustained injuries when a speeding truck overturned on Motorway M-5 near Sindh’s Ghotki.
