Pakistan Announces Squads for West Indies White-Ball Series
LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has revealed the national squads for the upcoming tour of the West Indies, which includes three T20 Internationals and three One-Day Internationals.
Mohammad Rizwan will remain the captain of the ODI team. The selection committee has chosen a 16-member squad for this series.
Salman Ali Agha has been named as the captain for the T20I squad.
The T20I team welcomes back experienced fast bowlers Haris Rauf, Hasan Ali, and Shaheen Shah Afridi, who are expected to strengthen the pace attack. These players were absent from the recent series against Bangladesh.
Several young players who participated in the recent T20I series against Bangladesh in Mirpur have been excluded.
Abbas Afridi, Salman Mirza, and Ahmed Daniyal have been dropped from the T20I squad.
Salman Mirza, during his debut series, emerged as the top wicket-taker with seven wickets in three matches, maintaining an economy rate of 5.21.
Ahmed Daniyal, who also debuted internationally, secured three wickets in two matches with an economy of 5.57 and scored 17 runs at a strike rate of 154.54.
The ODI squad has also undergone changes since the last series against New Zealand in March-April, which Pakistan lost 3-0.
Akif Javed, Imam-ul-Haq, Khushdil Shah, Mohammad Ali, Mohammad Wasim Jr., Irfan Khan, and Tayyab Tahir have been left out.
The squad now includes Fakhar Zaman, Hasan Ali, Hasan Nawaz, Hussain Talat, Mohammad Haris, Mohammad Nawaz, Saim Ayub, and Shaheen Afridi.
The Pakistan team is scheduled to arrive in the USA on Sunday, July 27, after their tour of Bangladesh concludes.
The West Indies tour will commence with the T20I series on July 31, August 2, and August 3 at the Central Broward Park & Broward County Stadium in Lauderhill, USA.
The ODI series will be held on August 8, 10, and 12 at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Trinidad & Tobago.
