Lok Sahaita Marathon Gains International Recognition
The Lok Sahaita Marathon has achieved AIMS–World Athletics certification, joining the Karachi Marathon as the second road race in Pakistan to receive this prestigious international endorsement.
Official Course Measurement
Kim Vivian, an Australian Grade A measurer, traveled to Sukkur to conduct the official course assessment. Using globally recognized methods, Vivian certified the distances for all races, including the full marathon (42.195 km), two separate half marathons (21.0975 km each), and the 10K women’s race.
Scenic Route
All races will commence and conclude at IBA Public School Sukkur. The full marathon route extends towards Khairpur before looping back, providing participants with picturesque views of Sindh’s natural environment, featuring banana farms, expansive date orchards, and glimpses of the Indus River.
Global Eligibility
Thanks to the AIMS–World Athletics certification, participant race results will now be considered for international rankings, qualification for major global marathons, and formal record validation.
Advancing Athletics
This achievement represents a considerable advancement for the Lok Sahaita Marathon, spotlighting Sukkur and Khairpur on the international athletic stage and reinforcing the race’s dedication to upholding global benchmarks in long-distance running.
