Moroccan Government Offers Scholarships to Pakistani Students
The Kingdom of Morocco, in collaboration with the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan, has announced an offering of 10 fully-funded scholarships for Pakistani students. These scholarships facilitate admissions into Moroccan Public Institutions of Higher, Technical, and Professional education for the academic session of 2025-26.
Scholarship Details
These opportunities are available to eligible Pakistani and Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK) citizens in diverse academic disciplines, including:
- Medical Studies
- Engineering
- Management Sciences
- Veterinary Sciences
- Architecture
Students have the chance to pursue undergraduate, master’s, or PhD degrees, subject to fulfilling all stipulated criteria encompassing academic credentials and age restrictions. The final date for online registration is Thursday, June 12, 2025, at 4:00pm Pakistan Standard Time.
Eligibility Requirements
- Applicants must be Pakistani or AJK nationals, without dual nationality.
- Undergraduate applicants need a minimum of 12 years of education (FSc or A-level) and must be under 23 years old.
- Master’s applicants must possess 16 years of relevant education.
- PhD applicants should have a minimum of 18 years of education in a related field.
- A valid HAT (higher education aptitude test) or USAT (undergraduate studies admission test) score is essential, based on the study level. Nominations are based on these test outcomes.
Language Proficiency
Instruction in most Moroccan institutions, especially in scientific and economic areas, is primarily in French. Therefore, successful candidates must complete a French language refresher course at designated centers, like Alliance Française in Pakistan, during the 2024-25 academic year. Arabic Language and Literature and Islamic Studies courses are taught in Arabic, thus applicants to these programs should demonstrate proficiency in the language.
Application Process
Interested candidates should apply via the HEC portal, available at scholarship [hec.gov.pk], under the Moroccan Govt Scholarship Program. Hard copies of documents are not required at this initial stage. However, shortlisted applicants will later be required to submit academic records, personal statements, letters of recommendation, health certifications, and a police clearance certificate. Employed applicants will also need a No Objection Certificate from their current employer.
Accreditation Verification
Those pursuing professional courses such as medicine, engineering, or law must verify the accreditation of their selected programs with the pertinent professional bodies in Pakistan. These include the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC), Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC), and Pakistan Bar Council (PBC). Applicants should carefully review guidelines, especially those issued by PMDC concerning foreign medical institution admissions.
