Muhammad Shahbaz, a 37-year-old Pakistani medical researcher, is playing a vital role in strengthening China-Pakistan medical collaboration. Currently based at the Neutron Science Institute (Chongqing) of the FDS consortium, Shahbaz focuses on the clinical application and international cooperation in precision radiotherapy, a cutting-edge medical technology.
Having moved to China in 2006 to pursue a medical degree, Shahbaz has lived in the country for nearly 20 years. He describes Chongqing as a hub of innovation in radiotherapy, offering advanced medical infrastructure and a supportive talent ecosystem that has made him feel at home.
Over the years, Shahbaz has established platforms to help Pakistani students study in China, bridging educational opportunities between the two nations. He has also facilitated expert visits from China to Pakistan, fostering knowledge-sharing in medical education, scientific research, and digital healthcare innovation.
