Tragic Accident in Saudi Arabia Claims Lives of Pakistani Pilgrims
A devastating road mishap in Saudi Arabia has resulted in the death of five Pakistani Umrah pilgrims, including three women. The accident occurred when their bus crashed on the return journey from a visit to the historical site of Badr, while en route to Madina.
Preliminary reports indicate that the deceased, along with the majority of pilgrims on the bus, hailed from the Bahawalnagar district. The victims include Rukhsana Bibi and Amina Bibi from 228/9-R, Fort Abbas, two women from Dahran Wala, and an elderly man named Manzoor Hussain from 39/3-R.
The unfortunate incident also left several individuals injured, who have since been transferred to various medical facilities in Madina for necessary treatment.
“My sister and two cousins lost their lives in a bus accident while traveling from Badr to Madina,” stated Muhammad Khalid, a relative of the victims.
According to hospital sources, four of the injured, including two women, are currently receiving medical attention at the Saudi-German Hospital. Additionally, three other individuals, including two women, are being treated at King Fahd Hospital. One woman is also under care at King Salman Hospital. Authorities have confirmed that two bodies have been transported to each of the Saudi-German and King Fahd hospitals.
Pakistan’s Consul General, Khalid Majeed, has stated that the Pakistan Consulate is actively providing assistance to the injured and maintaining communication with the involved Umrah sponsoring company.
Meanwhile, family members of the victims have conveyed that the deceased pilgrims will be laid to rest in Saudi Arabia.
