Pakistan Receives $3.2 Billion in Remittances in July 2025

According to data released by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) on Friday, Pakistan saw an inflow of $3.2 billion in overseas workers’ remittances during July 2025.

The remittances demonstrated a 7.4% increase compared to the $3 billion recorded in the corresponding month of the preceding year. However, on a month-over-month basis, remittances experienced a 6% decrease compared to the $3.4 billion reported in June.

Home remittances are vital in bolstering the nation’s external account, boosting the economic landscape, and supplementing the financial resources of households reliant on these funds.

Remittance Breakdown

Overseas Pakistanis residing in Saudi Arabia contributed the most significant portion of remittances in July 2025, transmitting $823.7 million during the month. This figure represents an almost 8% surge compared to the $760 million dispatched by expatriates during the same month last year.

Inflows originating from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) showed an uptick of 9% year-on-year, climbing from $611.2 million to $665.2 million in July. Conversely, on a monthly basis, remittances witnessed a 7% decline, falling from $717.2 million in June.

Remittances originating from the United Kingdom totaled $450.4 million during the month, reflecting a 16% reduction compared to $537.6 million in June 2025. Nonetheless, year-over-year inflows from the UK improved by 2%.

Overseas Pakistanis in the US sent $269.6 million in July 2025, indicating a month-on-month decrease of 4% and a 10% drop year-over-year.
