Pakistan Refinery Limited Announces Shutdown
Pakistan Refinery Limited (PRL) has communicated its decision to halt operations for a duration of 15 days, commencing on August 17.
The announcement was conveyed to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) through a formal notification issued by the listed entity today.
According to the notification, “Pakistan Refinery Limited will initiate its regeneration shutdown on August 17, 2025, expected to last around 15 days,” as stated in the communication to the PSX.
The company is strategically managing its crude material to better suit its refinery arrangement, giving preference to raw material types that improve production.
Significant advancements encompass the Refinery Expansion and Upgradation Project (REUP), designed to produce EURO-V compliant fuels (HSD and MS), implement cutting-edge deep conversion refinery technology to decrease furnace oil output, and double the refinery’s processing capability from 50,000 bpd to 100,000 bpd.
