Awam Pakistan Party Advocates for Balochistan Relief in Upcoming Budget

The Awam Pakistan Party has called on the government to allocate relief measures for the people of Balochistan in the upcoming budget.

The Awam Pakistan Party is under the leadership of former Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and ex-Finance Minister Miftah Ismail.

Syed Aman Shah, Provincial Convener of Awam Pakistan Balochistan, stated that the residents of Balochistan have been facing significant challenges due to limited access to essential amenities, job prospects, educational resources, medical care, and infrastructure.

He emphasized that it is the federal government’s duty to introduce specific relief initiatives for the populace of Balochistan in the forthcoming fiscal budget for 2025–26.

He urgently requested the government to take into account the following demands:

  • A considerable increase in the province’s development budget.
  • The provision of educational opportunities, vocational training programs, and job opportunities for young people.
  • Allocation of a reasonable proportion of the revenue derived from Balochistan’s natural resources to the province.

Syed Aman Shah highlighted that in the present economic climate, ordinary citizens are already struggling with high inflation rates, unemployment, and a scarcity of essential items. Therefore, any additional taxes or burdens on essential goods in the approaching budget would be unacceptable.

He appealed for a reduction in taxes on everyday items and the stabilization of prices for utilities like electricity, gas, fuel, and medicines.

He implored the government to offer relief to salaried individuals, including salary increases that keep pace with inflation. Additionally, he advocated for a reduction in unnecessary government spending instead of introducing fresh taxes.

He further stated that it is imperative for the government to re-evaluate its priorities and present a budget focused on welfare, offering relief to the average person instead of adding to their burdens.

Syed Aman Shah restated that the issues of Balochistan necessitate tangible actions, not just empty promises. He said that it is time for the federal budget to grant Balochistan its rightful allocation.
