Pakistan’s Netball Team Triumphs Over South Korea at Asian Youth Championship

JEONJU: The Pakistan team showcased a dominant performance, securing a decisive 91-6 victory against South Korea in their third match of the Asian Youth Girls Netball Championship 2025. The match occurred at the Jeonju Hwasan Gymnasium on Sunday.

The Pakistani team exhibited remarkable prowess, coordination, and teamwork throughout the contest, seizing control right from the beginning.

Key players including Leya Raza Shah, Alisha Naveed, Haleema, Sarina Hussain, Jasmine Farooq, Farah Rasheed, Amani, Parisa, Sumayya Ahmed, and Alina each played a crucial role, substantially contributing to the overwhelming success.

With this recent victory, Pakistan now holds the top position in Pool B, maintaining their undefeated status in the competition.

The team’s next challenge is against Japan in their fourth group-stage match on Monday. Following this, they will conclude the round-robin stage with their final group match against the Maldives on July 1.

Mudassar Arain, Chairman of the Pakistan Netball Federation, along with President Sameen Malik, and Secretary General Muhammad Riaz, extended their congratulations to the team. They lauded the players for their exceptional performance and acknowledged their consistent determination shown throughout the tournament thus far.

The Asian Youth Girls Netball Championship 2025 includes a total of 11 participating teams and is being conducted from June 27 to July 4, overseen by the Asian Netball Federation.

The teams are organized into two groups. Group A consists of Malaysia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Hong Kong, and India.

Group B comprises Pakistan, Chinese Taipei, South Korea, Japan, Maldives, and Saudi Arabia.

Having completed three of their five scheduled group-stage matches, Pakistan is focused on preserving their strong momentum as they progress further in the championship.
