The Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) successfully concluded its two-day Health Expo and Summit at the Pak-China Friendship Centre, spotlighting Pakistan’s expanding pharmaceutical capabilities and growing recognition in global health markets.

The event attracted a large number of government officials, international diplomats, industry leaders, and healthcare professionals. With a strong focus on innovation, trade promotion, and public health awareness, the expo served as a vital platform for collaboration between public and private sectors.

Government Support for Pharma Growth

On the final day, the Federal Minister for National Heritage and Culture, Aurangzeb Khan Khichi, toured the exhibition, appreciating the variety of pharmaceutical and medical products on display. He applauded RCCI’s efforts in promoting health-related trade initiatives and reiterated the government’s commitment to elevating Pakistan’s pharmaceutical industry to global standards.

He expressed optimism about Pakistan’s potential to become a leader in affordable and high-quality drug manufacturing, benefiting citizens through health reforms and strategic industry partnerships.

Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Commerce, Rana Ehsan Afzal Khan, also participated in the event. He emphasized the importance of public-private collaboration and praised RCCI for facilitating a dynamic forum for dialogue and innovation.

Tennis icon Aisam-ul-Haq visited the Health Expo, further boosting public interest and drawing attention to the role of sports in wellness and mental health awareness.

RCCI President Usman Shaukat emphasized Pakistan’s pharmaceutical export potential. He highlighted the country’s capabilities in producing advanced generic medicines, the availability of a skilled workforce, and competitive pricing, all key factors that position Pakistan as a global contender in pharmaceutical manufacturing.

He called for a stronger regulatory framework to eliminate counterfeit and substandard drugs and ensure the consistent quality, efficacy, and safety of medicines produced in the country.

The expo also provided several free health services to attendees, including:
