Pakistan Invites Etisalat Group for ICT Sector Expansion
Islamabad has extended an invitation to the UAE’s Etisalat Group, encouraging them to broaden their investments within Pakistan’s growing information and communication technology (ICT) and telecom industries.
On Monday, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar welcomed a delegation from the Etisalat Group, UAE, with Group CEO Hatem Dowidar leading the team.
Dar emphasized the increasing significance of Pakistan’s digital economy and the government’s dedication to creating a supportive and business-oriented environment.
CEO Dowidar acknowledged the Pakistani government’s continuous assistance and reaffirmed Etisalat Group’s enduring commitment to the Pakistani market. He voiced strong interest in aiding the nation’s digital advancement and connectivity objectives.
Key figures present at the meeting included the Minister for IT, SAPM Tariq Bajwa, the National Coordinator of SIFC, secretaries from IT and Commerce, and Privatization, alongside high-ranking officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
