Eid ul Adha Expected on June 7: Suparco Prediction

According to predictions from the Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (Suparco), Eid ul Adha is anticipated to be observed on June 7.

The space agency indicated that the commencement of Zil Hajj, the twelfth and final month of the Islamic lunar calendar, will likely occur on May 29, contingent on the official moon sighting. Based on this, Eid ul Adha is expected to fall on Saturday, June 7.

Suparco stated that the Zil Hajj moon will be born on May 27 at 8:02pm. However, its age at sunset on the same day will only be 11 hours and 34 minutes, significantly reducing the likelihood of it being sighted across the nation.

Likewise, astronomer Dr. Faheem Hashmi also suggested that Eid ul Adha would likely be celebrated on June 7, citing astronomical calculations indicating a very low probability of spotting the Zil Hajj moon in Pakistan on May 27.

The astronomer clarified that the new moon is not expected to be visible in Pakistan on May 27, as it will be approximately 11 hours old at sunset.

In the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the Emirates Astronomy Society has projected that this significant Islamic festival is likely to be observed on June 6.
