DRS Unavailable for Pakistan vs. Bangladesh T20I Series

LAHORE: The upcoming three-match T20I series between Pakistan and Bangladesh, commencing on May 28 at Gaddafi Stadium, will proceed without the Decision Review System (DRS), sources have verified.

The absence of DRS has raised concerns among fans and analysts, especially given that the final stages of the recent Pakistan Super League (PSL) 10 were also conducted without this technology.

According to sources, the primary reason for the exclusion is the unavailability of the technical personnel responsible for the DRS system’s operation.

These technical experts have not yet returned following the PSL, rendering it impossible to establish the technology in time for the series.

The Bangladesh team has been informed about this situation. The matches will be held as planned on May 28, May 30, and June 1 at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.

Despite the absence of DRS, both teams are anticipated to adapt to the playing conditions.

Meanwhile, a joint press briefing featuring the team captains and the official trophy unveiling is planned for later today.

The series will mark Pakistan’s first international engagement under the leadership of newly appointed white-ball head coach Mike Hesson.

Initially, Bangladesh was scheduled to arrive in Pakistan in two groups on May 21 for a five-match T20I series, with the opening game set for May 25 in Faisalabad.

However, due to logistical issues and shifting security considerations, the series was revised to three matches, all to be held in Lahore.
