Pakistan and Iran Pledge to Enhance Bilateral Cooperation
Islamabad: On Sunday, Pakistan and Iran reaffirmed their dedication to strengthening their cooperative relationship in various sectors.
This commitment was emphasized during a meeting in Islamabad at Aiwan-e-Sadr between Iranian President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian, who is currently visiting, and his Pakistani counterpart, Asif Ali Zardari.
During the discussion, both parties underscored the significance of bolstering bilateral connections in a wide array of mutually advantageous domains.
President Zardari, in welcoming President Pezeshkian, noted the friendly relations between Pakistan and Iran, which are rooted in shared religion, culture, and mutual regard. The two leaders exchanged perspectives on significant regional and global events, highlighting the necessity for coordinated diplomatic actions to avert conflict escalation and foster regional peace, security, and stability.
President Zardari acknowledged Tehran’s consistent backing of regional collaboration and commended Iran’s principled stance on regional matters.
He voiced appreciation for Iran’s support during crucial times and reiterated Pakistan’s resolve to collaborate closely with Iran for a tranquil and prosperous future.
The President also expressed his gratitude to His Eminence, Syed Ali Khamenei, for his steadfast backing of the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
President Zardari firmly denounced Israel’s unprovoked aggression against Iran, praising the Iranian people’s bravery and solidarity during the recent conflict. He conveyed his optimism that President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian’s visit would further strengthen the fraternal bonds between the two nations.
President Pezeshkian expressed gratitude to the leadership and people of Pakistan for their backing during the conflict, lauding Pakistan’s constructive efforts in promoting de-escalation, dialogue, and diplomacy for the amicable resolution of disputes.
