In a historic move, Pakistan’s Federal Cabinet, led by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, has unanimously approved the National Artificial Intelligence Policy 2025, setting the stage for a digital revolution in governance, economy, and public services.
The policy aims to build a robust AI ecosystem by 2030. Major targets include:
- Training one million AI professionals
- Launching 1,000 indigenous AI products
- Supporting 50,000 AI-powered public service projects
- Offering AI scholarships and inclusive financing for women and differently-abled individuals
Two government-backed investment programs, the AI Innovation Fund and a Venture Fund, will drive private sector involvement, while a newly formed National AI Council will ensure ethical use, cybersecurity, and international data compliance.
“Our youth are our greatest asset,” stated Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. “By investing in AI, we’re investing in Pakistan’s global future.”
