ISLAMABAD: Acting on the directions of Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Chief Commissioner Islamabad Muhammad Ali Randhawa, the newly constructed parking facility at the Pak Secretariat has been opened for government employees and the general public. The initiative aims to provide a lasting solution to the chronic parking problems faced by staff working in key government offices in the federal capital as well as visitors coming from other cities.
Covering an area of approximately 133,729 square feet, the new facility has space to accommodate a large number of vehicles. Its completion will benefit not only Secretariat employees but also staff of nearby government and semi-government offices, along with the public at large.
Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa described the project as a significant step towards improving civic services and transforming Islamabad into a well-planned, attractive and citizen-friendly city. He noted that resolving a fundamental issue such as parking would reduce congestion, save time and energy for citizens and improve the overall flow of traffic.
He commended the dedicated teams who worked on the project and emphasized that the facility is designed to ease daily commuting for government employees while providing convenience to ordinary citizens. He directed that vehicles must be parked only in designated spaces and sheds to keep the system organized and efficient. He also ordered the installation of clear signboards at key points to guide users, as well as the maintenance of high standards of security, lighting and cleanliness so the public can use the facility safely and comfortably.
Muhammad Ali Randhawa further stated that similar modern parking projects will soon be launched in other high-traffic areas of Islamabad to effectively manage the growing population and increasing vehicle pressure. He reaffirmed the CDA’s commitment to making every possible convenience available to citizens and said that all resources are being utilized to achieve this goal.
