PAF’s Response to Indian Aggression: A Summary

Air Vice Marshal Aurangzeb Ahmed stated that the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) delivered a decisive and confident response to India’s acts of aggression.

During a press briefing, alongside Director-General of Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif and Deputy Chief of Naval Staff (Operations), Vice Admiral Raja Rab Nawaz, he remarked, “Our reaction was carefully timed and strategically chosen. The leadership’s directives were precise and resolute.”

He emphasized that the PAF engaged the highest number of Indian Air Force (IAF) airbases in a single operation since 1971. “We ensured the avoidance of civilian casualties and maintained pinpoint accuracy,” he pointed out.

He further asserted that Pakistan’s prompt and potent response thwarted India’s ambition to establish a “new normal” through forceful measures.

“Pakistan is unwavering in its commitment to safeguard its airspace and foster peace through strength,” he affirmed.

He lauded Chief of Air Staff Zaheer Ahmad Babar as the key strategist behind the operation. Aurangzeb stated, “He assigned us three objectives: to reinstate deterrence, neutralise threats, and maintain air control.”

He revealed that in the initial phase of their response, Pakistan targeted Indian Rafale fighter jets, effectively grounding the fleet near the western frontier. “This constrained their operational capabilities and maneuverability,” he explained.

Aurangzeb also mentioned that India initiated drone incursions into Pakistani civilian zones. However, Pakistan’s radar and countermeasures successfully detected and neutralised all drones, rendering them ineffective.
