Pakistan Clinches T20I Series Against West Indies
Pakistan secured a 2-1 series victory against the West Indies in their three-match T20I series, triumphing by 13 runs in the decisive match.
Mohsin Naqvi, Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), conveyed his congratulations to the national cricket team on Monday, recognizing their accomplishment in the T20 series against the West Indies played in the United States. He attributed the success to exceptional teamwork and resolve.
Naqvi used X, formerly known as Twitter, to acknowledge the Green Shirts’ dynamic performance throughout the series.
He posted, “Congratulations Team Pakistan on a fantastic T20 series win against West Indies in the USA! Great teamwork, determination, and spirit on display.”
The PCB Chairman emphasized that the players’ stellar performance on the international stage has brought honor to the nation. He also voiced his faith in the team’s capability to sustain their triumphant streak.
Naqvi further stated, “Proud of our boys for making the nation proud on international soil. Keep the momentum going.”
In the series-deciding match, Pakistan defeated West Indies by 13 runs at the Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground, thus winning the three-match T20I series 2-1.
After winning the toss, captain Salman Ali Agha chose to bat first, with Pakistan reaching 189/4 in their 20 overs.
Sahibzada Farhan delivered a powerful innings, scoring 74 runs from 53 balls, which included five sixes and three fours.
Saim Ayub also achieved his second half-century of the series, accumulating 66 runs off 49 balls, hitting two sixes and four fours.
For the West Indies team, Jason Holder, Roston Chase, and Shamar Joseph each took one wicket.
In their chase of 190 runs, the West Indies fought hard but were ultimately limited to 176/6 in their 20 overs.
Alick Athanaze played a forceful innings, scoring 60 runs off 40 balls with one six and eight fours, yet his efforts were not enough to secure victory.
Sherfane Rutherford also added a swift 51 runs from 35 balls, including three sixes and four fours, but the team fell short of the target.
