Salman Ali Agha Experiences Mild Neck Spasm During Training

DUBAI: Concerns arose on Wednesday when Pakistan’s captain, Salman Ali Agha, curtailed his participation in the team’s training session at the ICC Academy due to a minor neck spasm. This occurred just prior to their significant Asia Cup 2025 match against India on Sunday.

Although Salman was present with the team at the academy, he was observed with a bandage supporting his neck and seemed to be moving carefully.

While his teammates were involved in activities such as warm-ups, stretching, and a casual football game, the captain chose to avoid any activity that might strain his neck.

According to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), the media manager conveyed that Salman is only dealing with a slight spasm, and there are no major concerns regarding his fitness.

The decision to have the captain sit out the session was purely precautionary, and he is anticipated to fully rejoin the team for training shortly.

The team management is optimistic about Salman Ali Agha’s complete recovery and availability for Pakistan’s forthcoming Asia Cup matches.

Recently, Pakistan secured victory in the tri-nation T20I series against Afghanistan at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium, successfully defending a 142-run target by dismissing Afghanistan for a mere 66 runs.

The team is scheduled to commence their Asia Cup 2025 journey against Oman at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Friday.
