Maulana Fazlur Rehman, the head of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F), has once again reaffirmed his dedication to promoting peace in Pakistan’s tribal areas. Speaking during a gathering of tribal elders at his residence in Dera Ismail Khan, he highlighted his longstanding efforts toward peace, which he intends to continue.
Rehman emphasized the formation of a permanent tribal jirga (council) in 2012, bringing together people from various religious backgrounds and sectors. His objective is to engage with each tribal leader individually to address issues and promote harmony.
The JUI-F leader stressed that he views himself as part of the tribal community, noting that whenever matters concerning the tribes arise, a deep sense of responsibility drives him to advocate for their rights and resolve issues. His commitment to peace in these regions continues to be a central aspect of his political and social agenda.
