Hunt Continues Legal Fight Against Lesnar, White, and UFC

Former UFC combatant Mark Hunt has declared that his legal challenge involving Brock Lesnar, UFC President Dana White, and the UFC organization is ongoing, countering recent reports to the contrary.

Hunt initiated proceedings following his contest with Lesnar at UFC 200 in July 2016, where he suffered a loss via unanimous decision.

Subsequent to the match, Lesnar’s test revealed the presence of a prohibited substance, which led to the result being amended to a No Contest. Lesnar was then penalized with a $250,000 fine and a suspension from the UFC for one year.

The New Zealand-born athlete has levied accusations of racketeering and deception against the UFC, Lesnar, and Dana White. The claim suggests they knowingly permitted Lesnar to participate, despite being cognizant of his doping offense, purportedly driven by monetary incentives.

“I have not been defeated in the case…it is still in progress,” Hunt stated during a recent interview. “My point is that the public needs to understand the actual substance of the case.”

He further elaborated on the matter, stating: “Recently, the Ninth Circuit [United States Court of Appeals] declined a rehearing. Consequently, the case advances to en banc, then to super en banc, and subsequently, it may be presented to the Supreme Court.”

Hunt stressed that the ramifications of this legal battle could extend beyond his personal complaint.

“There are several options, and this case underscores the imperative to revise the existing statute…these legal provisions must be amended,” he concluded.

Lesnar’s encounter with Hunt marked his final appearance in the UFC, during which he secured a victory over the New Zealander through a unanimous decision.

His triumph over Hunt at UFC 200 in 2016 signified his first win in over six years. However, this outcome was later nullified and designated as a No Contest following his positive test for a prohibited substance.

Consequently, he faced a fine of £188,000 ($250,000) and a one-year suspension from the promotion.
