Mariah May Debuts in WWE NXT After AEW Stint
Mariah May, the former AEW Women’s World Champion, made her official WWE debut on Tuesday night’s NXT episode.
She engaged in a segment with Jacy Jayne, the current NXT Women’s Champion, where she declared her intent to contend for the title.
During her introduction, May confidently addressed both the NXT audience and her prospective rivals.
May’s Statement
“Ladies, you can call me the next NXT women’s champion,” May stated.
“Because the premier women’s division worldwide has just gained considerable glamour,” she added.
Her emergence follows her recent removal from the AEW roster, signifying her departure after almost three years. Global reports anticipated her WWE debut.
According to worldwide media sources, AEW had prior awareness of her decision to leave.
Reportedly, AEW knew about her exit, and sources close to WWE suggest that plans for her to join WWE were underway for some time.
The report further revealed that May’s AEW contract was a two-year agreement without an option for an additional year.
May achieved success in AEW, securing both the Women’s Owen Hart Cup and the AEW Women’s World Championship in 2024.
Her concluding AEW appearance occurred at Revolution in March, where she was defeated by “Timeless” Toni Storm in a critical championship rematch.
