Lucky Motor Corporation Announces Price Hike for KIA Vehicles

Lucky Motor Corporation (LMC) has declared a substantial increase in the ex-factory prices of its KIA vehicles, effective July 1, 2025, citing recent economic factors, notably the federal budget measures. Certain models will see prices rise by as much as Rs700,000.

In a notification issued to dealers, the company stated, “Our primary focus has always been on delivering superior products at competitive prices. However, current economic conditions, including the introduction of the NEV [New Energy Vehicle] levy in the federal budget, the ongoing devaluation of the Pakistani rupee, and increased international shipping costs, have significantly impacted prices.”

The company added, “Despite our best efforts to mitigate and absorb these effects, a price adjustment will be implemented starting July 1.”

The Finance Act 2025 introduced the NEV levy on all internal combustion engine vehicles and motorcycles, which took effect on July 1, 2025, leading to considerable price increases.

According to details, the NEV levy impacts all vehicle categories, ranging from basic motorcycles to high-end SUVs.

However, the policy offers exemptions for new energy vehicles (electric and hybrid cars), vehicles produced solely for export, vehicles for diplomatic missions, and those owned by international organizations with diplomatic privileges.
