Pakistan and Bangladesh Agree on T20I Series Schedule

Lahore: Provisional dates have been set for Bangladesh’s forthcoming three-match T20I series tour to Pakistan. All games will be played at the Gaddafi Stadium.

Sources indicate the initial match is scheduled for May 27, with the subsequent two matches anticipated to follow with a single day’s interval, concluding on May 31.

According to sources, the Bangladesh team, with Litton Das as the newly appointed T20I captain, is expected to arrive in Pakistan on May 24, preceding the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 10 final by one day.

The series confirmation follows a successful meeting involving Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi and top Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) officials, including Chairman Nazmul Abedeen and President Farooq Ahmed.

After productive discussions, the two boards have consented to proceed with the tour, resolving previous reservations.

The original plan involved Bangladesh arriving in Pakistan on May 21 in two groups, with a five-match T20I series commencing on May 25 in Faisalabad.

However, modifications in logistics and security concerns have resulted in a restructured three-match series.

Litton Das, an accomplished wicketkeeper-batter, will lead Bangladesh, having been appointed captain earlier this year following Najmul Hossain Shanto’s resignation.

Off-spinner Mahedi Hasan has been designated as vice-captain for the tours of both the UAE and Pakistan.
