Kuwait’s Ministry of Health has issued a formal appeal to its employees currently abroad, urging them to return to duty immediately due to exceptional circumstances.
The appeal comes as health services in Kuwait are facing disruption, and the ministry stressed that continuity of care across the country’s healthcare system is required. Employees have been asked to provide an official letter confirming their return to duty or a notice of return from leave, which must be approved by both their immediate supervisor and next level of management.
The Ministry of Health specified that for those on annual leave, they need to attach a copy of the pre-approved leave authorisation along with entry and exit records generated through the Ministry of Interior’s “Sahel” application. This ensures proper completion of administrative procedures.
Employees are expected to submit all required paperwork to the Administrative Affairs – Leave Department at their respective workplace. The deadline for this is reportedly not specified in the circular, indicating a need for swift action from those who have been abroad.
The return of staff to Kuwait is seen as crucial to maintaining health services without disruption. With the healthcare system relying on its employees to provide continuity of care, the ministry’s call for their swift return highlights the importance of these individuals in ensuring patient care and public health services.
