KP Government Prioritizes Hydropower Projects for Full Potential Utilization

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government is focusing on the timely and quality completion of various small and large-scale hydropower projects. This initiative aims to fully harness the province’s significant hydropower capabilities.

KP Chief Minister Sardar Ali Amin Gandapur announced this objective while presiding over a meeting of the Energy and Power Department.

The chief minister stressed the importance of achieving 100% financial progress on these projects by the conclusion of the current fiscal year. He also mandated adherence to the scheduled physical progress targets.

During the meeting, officials reviewed the advancements made on projects under the Annual Development Programme, managed by the Energy and Power Department. A comprehensive briefing was provided on the financial and physical status of these projects.

Gandapur reiterated that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa possesses substantial hydropower resources. He highlighted that the prompt and high-quality execution of ongoing hydropower projects is crucial to maximizing their benefits.

Furthermore, the chief minister directed that measures be implemented to supply electricity from the Balakot Hydropower Project, which is currently under construction, to local industries.

He also underscored the need for substantial advancement in the solarisation project, emphasizing its significance as a key initiative of the current provincial administration.
