Karachi Traffic Police Issue Plan for Rabi ul Awal Processions
The Karachi Traffic Police have announced a detailed traffic management strategy in anticipation of the 12th Rabi ul Awal processions taking place in the metropolis on Saturday.
Eid Milad un Nabi (PBUH) is observed each year with great religious respect and enthusiasm, marked by various public gatherings and events across the nation, including Karachi.
According to a traffic police representative, senior superintendents of police will be present to oversee procession routes within their respective jurisdictions.
Two primary processions are scheduled to commence from Memon Masjid in the afternoon. The first procession will begin at 2:30pm and conclude at Aram Bagh Masjid. The main procession, led by Maulana Shah Abdul Haq Qadri, will depart from Memon Masjid at 3:00pm, with its final destination being Nishtar Park.
Vehicular traffic will not be permitted on MA Jinnah Road, except for vehicles displaying official stickers participating in the processions.
District Central Alternative Routes:
As stated by the spokesperson, vehicles traveling from Nazimabad can use Lasbela Chowk via Nishtar Road towards Garden.
Likewise, traffic originating from Liaquatabad can proceed from Teen Hatti to Lasbela Chowk and make a left turn towards Central Jail.
For those traveling from Hassan Square to PPP Chowrangi, alternate routes include Kashmir Road, Society Light Signal (Shahrah-e-Quaideen), and Jail Flyover to Teen Hatti and then Nishtar Road (Lasbela Chowk).
Traffic will be restricted from Guru Mandir to Numaish.
District East:
The traffic plan indicates that individuals driving from Shahrah-e-Faisal towards Numaish can divert via Shahrah-e-Quaideen (Noorani Kebab), then Society Light Signal to turn right onto Kashmir Road.
Vehicles moving from Jamshed Road in the direction of Guru Mandir can utilize Bahadur Yar Jang Road and Soldier Bazaar.
District South:
For traffic moving from Garden Zoo towards MA Jinnah Road, diversions will be in place from Uncle Sarya to Gul Plaza or the Coast Guard near Holy Family Hospital.
According to the announced strategy, traffic from Lucky Star to MA Jinnah Road via Empress Market will be redirected from Saddar Dawakhana towards PPP Chowrangi. Vehicles heading toward Burns Road will be rerouted from Abdullah Haroon Road to MR Kiyani Chowk.
Furthermore, traffic will be barred from MR Kiyani Chowk to Court Road (Kabootar Chowrangi). Instead, vehicles will be guided from Arts Council (Strachan Road) to Pakistan Chowk.
For commuters on Shahrah-e-Liaquat heading towards Burns Road, traffic will be diverted from Aram Bagh signal to Pakistan Chowk.
The traffic authorities have also announced a ban on all heavy and commercial vehicles throughout the city on 12th Rabi ul Awal.
Citizens are advised to consider alternative routes to avoid potential congestion and reach their intended locations efficiently.
