Trader Wounded in Goat Robbery Ahead of Eid ul Adha

A merchant sustained injuries from gunfire during a goat theft incident near Ayesha Manzil in Karachi on Tuesday, prior to Eid ul Adha.

According to law enforcement officials, the robbers made off with a dozen goats belonging to the trader, identified as Miandad.

Reports indicate that the perpetrators opened fire when Miandad attempted to stop them from stealing his livestock.

Police mentioned that Miandad, the robbery victim, had traveled from Umerkot to Karachi to sell goats for the approaching Eid festival.

Following the shooting, the injured trader was transported to a medical facility for treatment, authorities stated.

Many traders from smaller towns and rural areas head to larger urban centers to trade animals that will be sacrificed on Eid ul Adha.

Previously, on Friday, four armed individuals on motorcycles stole a rickshaw containing three sacrificial rams from a citizen in the vicinity of Ayesha Manzil.

A video depicted the affected citizen, named Rashid, in distress and weeping after the incident.

Eid ul Adha, which includes the ritual sacrifice of animals, often sees a surge in these types of crimes as sellers and purchasers transport valuable livestock through densely populated locations.

Similar heists have been reported in Karachi as the demand for animals for sacrifice increases.

Earlier this month in Karachi’s Liaquatabad, armed criminals stopped a truck and escaped with sacrificial animals valued at over Rs600,000.
