Karachi Braces for Rising Temperatures
The Pakistan Meteorological Department has issued an advisory for Karachi, forecasting a further increase in temperatures commencing today (Thursday). A partial suspension of sea breezes is anticipated over the next couple of days.
The Met Office indicates that hot westerly winds could prevail today and tomorrow, contributing to heightened daytime heat. Wind speeds may range from 35 to 40 kilometers per hour on Thursday, exacerbating the sensation of heat.
Residents are likely to encounter heatwave-like conditions due to the dry and hot air currents. Temperatures are predicted to fluctuate between 39°C and 41°C during the day today and tomorrow.
The department also pointed out that Karachi typically ranks among the warmest cities during May, a month recognized as one of the hottest in the region.
However, some respite is expected to begin from Friday, with a probable slight reduction in temperature.
