John Cena Achieves Milestone with 100th Premium Live Event Victory
PERTH: In a career-defining moment, 17-time WWE Champion John Cena celebrated his 100th Premium Live Event (PLE) win by triumphing over AJ Styles at WWE Crown Jewel 2025 on Saturday. The match was a blend of nostalgia, intense action, and tributes to wrestling legends.
The clash between Cena and Styles was more than a simple match; it honored wrestling history and showcased compelling in-ring storytelling.
From the start, both athletes exchanged signature maneuvers and paid their respects to iconic WWE figures.
Cena executed The Miz’s Skull Crushing Finale, followed by Bray Wyatt’s Sister Abigail, creating a memorable tribute that captivated the audience.
The excitement grew as Cena delivered a draping DDT, an RKO, and applied the Walls of Jericho, energizing the crowd.
Commentator Wade Barrett described the scene as “like creating a character in a video game and just spamming everyone’s finisher for fun.”
Styles countered with his own tributes, attempting Shawn Michaels’ Sweet Chin Music, almost securing the win. However, Cena kicked out, keeping his hopes alive.
In the crucial moments, Cena paid homage to The Undertaker with a Tombstone Piledriver before sealing his victory with an Attitude Adjustment.
The referee’s final count confirmed Cena’s win, leading to an eruption of cheers as Cena stood tall, overwhelmed by the fans’ support.
This win marks Cena as the first WWE superstar from the Ruthless Aggression Era to reach 100 PLE victories.
The Undertaker holds the record with 107 wins, accumulated from his debut in 1990 to his retirement in 2020. Cena, who debuted in 2002, rose to prominence by 2005. Triple H is third with 92 PLE wins, followed by Randy Orton with 81.
Already the record holder for the most world championships in WWE history with 17, Cena has achieved yet another milestone.
Cena is expected to take a short break before his return on the November 10 episode of Raw in Boston.
His last Raw appearance will be at Madison Square Garden on November 17, his final PLE appearance at Survivor Series on November 29, and he will officially retire at Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13.
