Tragic Bus Accident in Jamshoro Claims Multiple Lives
At least sixteen individuals have tragically died, and numerous others have been injured after a passenger bus plummeted into a ravine in the vicinity of the Bola Khan police station, situated in Sindh’s Jamshoro district, according to local law enforcement.
Deputy Commissioner Ghazanfar Qadri stated that the bus was transporting laborers from the Bheel community who were journeying back home after concluding their work harvesting wheat in Balochistan.
The unfortunate incident transpired near the Bola Khan police station, resulting in injuries to over twenty passengers.
Authorities have verified the retrieval of at least a dozen bodies from the crash location. Hospital sources at Liaquat University Hospital in Jamshoro confirmed that four of the injured passengers passed away while receiving treatment, increasing the total number of fatalities to sixteen.
Rescue teams have reported that five injured individuals have been admitted to Civil Hospital in Hyderabad. Among the deceased are reportedly four children, according to rescue personnel.
A rescue official added that one of the injured is in critical condition and is receiving urgent medical care.
DC Qadri mentioned that five of the injured were taken to the Taluka Hospital in Bola Khan. However, he also noted that the medical facility is ill-equipped to manage severe trauma cases, characterizing it as a primary healthcare facility.
The underlying cause of the accident remains unconfirmed as an official inquiry is currently in progress.
