Islamabad United Bolsters Squad with Mohammad Faiq, Eyes Sixth Consecutive Win in PSL 10

Islamabad United, the three-time champions, have reinforced their lineup by acquiring the services of aggressive batter Mohammad Faiq for the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) 10.

The announcement, which took place on April 29, is intended to enhance the defending champions’ batting firepower as they aim for an unprecedented fourth title.

The 24-year-old has captured the attention of both fans and selectors through his dynamic and consistent displays in domestic cricket.

He recently garnered significant attention with a remarkable innings for Lahore Whites in the National T20 Cup, smashing an unbeaten 116 off just 56 deliveries on March 18 in Faisalabad. His innings included 12 fours and six towering sixes, highlighting his exceptional power-hitting capabilities.

This was Faiq’s second century in the T20 format, the first being an unbeaten 110 during the 2023–24 National T20 season.

Known for his explosive batting style, Faiq also achieved a rapid century off just 50 balls earlier this year, earning widespread praise on various social media platforms.

Currently undefeated in PSL 2025, Islamabad United holds the top position in the points table with a remarkable five successive victories.

They are scheduled to play against Lahore Qalandars tomorrow in Lahore, marking their second encounter of the season. In their previous match, United showcased their dominance with a convincing eight-wicket victory at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on April 11.

Throughout the tournament thus far, Islamabad United has secured two wins against Multan Sultans, along with victories against Karachi Kings, Peshawar Zalmi, and Lahore Qalandars.

A win against Lahore tomorrow would secure United’s sixth consecutive triumph, elevating them to 12 points and all but guaranteeing their place in the playoffs.
