Islamabad: In a heartfelt and dignified farewell, Superintendent of Police (SP) Rukhsar Mehdi was honored at the Central Police Office Islamabad following his retirement after an impressive 38 years of service in the Islamabad Police.
The ceremony was graced by Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, who served as the chief guest. Senior police officials, colleagues, and staff attended the event to pay tribute to SP Mehdi’s remarkable journey and contributions.
IGP Rizvi, while addressing the gathering, commended SP Rukhsar Mehdi for his unwavering dedication, professionalism, and integrity, stating that his legacy will remain a source of pride and inspiration for the entire police force. “He served this department with honor and commitment. His services have played a vital role in shaping Islamabad Police into a model institution, and his contributions will be remembered with great respect,” said the IGP.
Reflecting on his career, it was noted that SP Rukhsar Mehdi joined the Islamabad Police in 1987 as an Assistant Sub-Inspector. Over the decades, he steadily rose through the ranks, serving in critical roles including Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) and Superintendent of Police (SP). Among his key assignments were SP Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) and later, he led the Organized Crime Unit in the Investigation Wing.
In recognition of his outstanding service, IGP Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi presented SP Rukhsar Mehdi with an honorary police shield and commemorative gifts, extending best wishes for his future endeavors. “A person who spends his life in public service with such grace deserves not only recognition but immense gratitude. It is a moment to thank Almighty Allah for this respectful farewell,” added the IGP.
SP Rukhsar Mehdi’s retirement marks the end of an era, but his legacy of dedication and public service will continue to inspire current and future generations of Islamabad Police officers.
