The Islamabad Traffic Police has booked 249 drivers for violating one-way traffic rules and impounded 743 vehicles and motorcycles at various police stations across the federal capital This decisive action was taken under the special instructions of IGP Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi to protect citizens from accidents and ensure compliance with road safety regulations
Special squads of the Islamabad Traffic Police have been deployed at all major roads and key points in the city to take strict legal action against one-way violations Chief Traffic Officer Capt retd Hamzah Humayun said that these violations not only disrupt the smooth flow of traffic but also lead to serious accidents and loss of precious lives He stressed that protecting the lives and property of citizens is the top priority of the Islamabad Traffic Police and no tolerance will be shown towards such violations
He also appealed to the public to strictly follow traffic laws and drive responsibly to safeguard their own lives and those of others The ongoing crackdown highlights the city’s commitment to road safety and stronger enforcement of traffic regulations
