ISLAMABAD – June 24, 2025: As part of preemptive efforts to ensure peace during the holy month of Muharram, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Islamabad Police, Muhammad Jawad Tariq, briefed officers of the Dolphin and Ababeel Squads, directing them to implement foolproof security measures across the federal capital.

During the session, DIG Jawad Tariq emphasized the need for a proactive policing approach, especially around Majalis and mourning processions, to prevent any untoward incidents and uphold the sanctity of religious events.

“Comprehensive protection of all religious gatherings must be ensured. Your presence should deter any criminal activity,” he stated, urging increased patrolling in sensitive areas.

He directed all squads to remain vigilant, alert, and responsive, reinforcing that visible policing acts as a strong deterrent against anti-social elements. “Your uniform should instill fear in the hearts of wrongdoers,” DIG Tariq stressed.

Reiterating the importance of professional integrity, he advised officers to perform their duties with honesty, dedication, and humility, reminding them:

Pleasing Allah lies in serving His people.

To strengthen public trust, he instructed both squads to intensify street patrols, guarantee swift response to Pukar-15 emergency calls, and interact with citizens with dignity and respect.

DIG Tariq concluded by underscoring that ensuring public safety and winning the confidence of citizens remains the top priority of the Islamabad Police during Muharram and beyond.
